What (or Who) is the NYC Solidarity Economy Network?

August 5, 2009

The NYC Solidarity Economy Network is a group of individuals and organizations who met up at the first ever US Solidarity Economy Network Forum (US SEN Forum) in Amherst, MA which brought together people from all over the country who are involved in the Solidarity Economy.

We quickly realized that there were more than a handful of us from NYC. So, we found some time to meet and decided that we ought to form a group when we got back. The rest is history. We’ve been working ever since to develop our network and reach out to organizations, groups and individuals in NYC who are involved in solidarity-economy type projects in order to link them for the sake of mutual aid.

Take a look at our mission page if you want to get a better sense of what we’re about. We are new, but the solidarity economy is not. It has always been there! Also check out the What is the Solidarity Economy page for more information. Feel free to contact us with any questions or concerns.
